I built this to explore an experience I'm calling overlay; how contrasting a image in your head with what you're reading changes its meaning. More tentatively, how feeling, rhythm, all of these other 'states of mind' affect what kind of meaning you place on a given piece of text.

I like how minimal design creates an affordance for users to reflect on their own experience. I think this gives another angle into building on the application layer.
